Brian Farrell is a vocal coach, educator and mentor. As Artistic Director of Revv52, he has helped establish this unique Canadian ensemble that "pushes the bounds of choral music." In addition to his considerable committment to Revv52, Brian has been involved with the music community across Western Canada for the past year. Together with Vancouver producer Ashwin Sood of Nettwerk Management, Brian helped prepare the new female group Aliqua for their 2009 record release. During 2008, he was also musical director of Theatre Calgary's successful production of "Our Town." Brian established the Creative Class in Calgary which is an interactive and creative environment where artists learn about the roots of and the new business of music. Brian was selected to the latest edition of the World's Who's Who in Jazz, Cabaret, Music and Entertainment.
During his vocal coaching career, Brian's students have included Raghav (Mobo Award winner with six singles on the British Charts in 04-08), Paul Brandt (most awarded male singer in Canadian Country Music), Ashwin Sood (producer/principal talent scout with Nettwerk Management, musician with Sarah McLachlan), Kalan Porter (Canadian Idol winner touring his current album), singer/songwriter Lindsay Ell (new artist on the Canadian scene), Jeff Lillico (actor with Soulpepper, Stratford and Shaw Festivals) and others who have dedicated their lives to working in the musical arts.
He received his B.Mus.(Hons.), and B.Ed. from the University of Western Ontario, studied at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, the University of Western Michigan and completed his M.A. at San Diego State University. Brian is a member of the ProArts Board in Calgary.
